Full Name: Alastair Kinsley Holloway
Nick name: Al, Alice (generally only used by those teasing him)
Age: 17
Height: 5'4"
Home Country: Britain
Description: Alastair is a small, slender and all-around weak looking boy. He isn't truly, he has some muscle and weight to him so he isn't necessarily unhealthy...He just projects a certain air of frailty. He has long white hair that reaches his shoulder blades, with the bangs layered in such a way to frame his face to partially obscure it. His face is somewhat angular, with a sharp chin and high cheekbones, offset by the soft, almond-shape of his golden eyes. His most striking feature at first glance is likely to be the eye patch that covers his left eye, an omnipresent reminder of a past accident. He prefers to keep covered at all times, and with multiple layers so at any given time he's going to be in a long sleeved shirt, undershirt and a jacket or sweater over it all. If he could layer pants and not look ridiculous, he likely would...But as it stands, he simply gravitates to loose fitting slacks. The reason for all of the clothing is that a large portion of his body is covered in bad scarring from the same accident that gave him his eye patch.
Personality: Alastair isn't necessarily withdrawn all the time, he's just very socially awkward. He is very self-conscious of the way he looks, and a lot of the time feels like people are silently judging him, even when he keeps his scars covered up. He keeps to himself most of the time, and when caught in a conversation is prone to freezing up like a deer in headlights. His first instinct most of the time is to flee, but his parents taught him to be polite, so he does his best to truck through the interaction even though it makes him panicky and anxious. Though he isn't the best with people, he is very focused and determined when it comes to things like studying and his hobbies. It helps keep his mind distracted from everything else.
Family: Meredith Holloway (mother, deceased), Alexander Holloway (father, deceased)
Likes:
~Classical music: Violin and piano are especially soothing to him.
~Early morning: Those times when everyone else is still asleep, and the sun is just coming up.
~Quiet places: Especially after being around other people, he likes to go somewhere he can think.
~Rain: The sound it makes falling against tree branches and roofs are really relaxing.
~Reading: Escaping into the world of a book is one of his favorite pastimes.
Dislikes:
~Bullies: Really self-explanatory, who enjoys being picked on?
~Fire: This verges on a phobia, really. Even small things like candles can make him uneasy.
~Math: He's horrible with numbers.
~People who are too forward: Alastair doesn't do well in social situations normally, it's harder when someone's in his face.
~Rap music: ...this is considered music, really?
Strengths:
+Gentle
+Intelligent
+Studious
Weaknesses:
-Insecure
-Often melancholy
-Stutters
History: Alastair was born to wealthy parents. To say he lead a charmed life during childhood is an understatement. He had a very good life, he was doted on, he had everything he could have wanted or dreamed of. Heir to a successful British mining empire, his future looked bright. Of course, fate has a strange way of turning things around. When Alastair was 7, the Holloway mansion suffered a horrible fire. Investigators would later pin it on faulty wiring in the old building. Both of his parents succumbed to smoke inhalation. Alastair was about to follow right behind them when the firemen burst into the room and saved him.
He recovered, at a cost. His body was horribly scarred and he lost an eye but really, he was lucky to be alive. But the trauma changed him. He was no longer the happy go lucky youth before the fire. He withdrew a lot, and started avoiding people. He became a bit of a recluse for years after he was taken in by his aunt and uncle.
When he reached the age to start high school, his adoptive parents decided that getting away from the country would be good. Perhaps distancing Alastair from his past would help him recover from what happened, and so they sent him off to Teplos Academy.
